SB Architects looked to China’s rich natural landscape and local region, an area with an abundance of natural hot springs, for design inspiration, the innovative design for Crescent Hills is a seamless integration of tradition, culture, and nature.

Crescent Hills includes a variety of building types and sizes, including residences and a hotel, which SBA skillfully unifies with a thoughtful blend of varying building volumes, colors, materials, and landscaping. The design brings guests closer to nature, evoking a relaxing and tranquil ambiance. The project boasts an exceptional location within one hour of Xiamen, Zhangzhou, and Quanzhou and just 30 minutes from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport.

Specializing in reinterpreting local flair with a modern architectural vernacular, SB Architects has depicted the villas in the project’s second phase in an authentic oriental style, brimming with Chinese aesthetic. Inspired by the simple yet elegant Minnan buildings and Crescent Hills’ stunning natural environs, the 57 villas feature a dominant palette of black, white, and grey with warm wood accents, bringing to life a traditional Chinese painting of mountains and water. Small patches of bamboo groves separate the villas for a more serene and secluded feel. The public hot springs also feature natural wood accents.

Cleverly connected via corridors for a smooth transition, the townhouse villas are designed to connect guests to the natural environment through a variety of standard floorplans that each feature a courtyard and hot spring. Each villa is a therapeutic retreat, with world-renowned rare, strontium-rich soda hot spring water flowing 24 hours a day in the villas along with an outdoor, courtyard pool, a master bedroom with a view of the mountains, and a natural indoor-outdoor shower on the ground floor.
